Blue River Walnut Table
Two matched walnut slabs opened around a blue epoxy river, on a trapezoid steel base.

Two walnut slabs off the same tree, opened out and mirrored so the grain runs away from the centre in both directions, with a tinted blue epoxy river poured between them.
Book-matching is what makes a river table work
If the two slabs are not from the same log, the river looks like a seam. Cut from one tree and opened like a book, the figure reflects across the pour and the whole top reads as a single piece that happens to have water running through it.
The base
Trapezoid steel, blackened. A river top has a lot going on, so the base is there to hold it up and get out of the way. A matching bench was built from the offcuts.
